One of our young children living with Epidermolysis Bullosa is a lad called JC who lives in the mid north of SA.
His aunt wrote this poem about JC.
From the cocoon inside his mother's womb
into this world JC did bloom
In the form of a caterpillar, surprising us all
with blisters and raw skin, that looked so cruel
Never has he let his body restrict him
Never has his shing eyes gone dim
Always a smile upon his face
He has taught us tolerance
He has taught us grace
His total beauty we see every day
Although strangers often look away
Ignorant, it's the exterior they see
Uneducated about the disorder eb
God lent us an angel from up above
So we could experience unconditional love
When he's called and its time for goodbye
He will tranform into the most beautiful butterfly.
